This is the first built paper tube project to receive ministry certification as a structural building material. 110 paper tubes stand vertically in a row to form an “S” curve on a 10m × 10m floor plan, forming various interior and exterior spaces between the square and arc form. 10 of the paper tubes bear the vertical loads, and 80 tubes take the lateral loads. The foundations were connected to the paper tube columns using a wooden joint and lag screws. When the perimeter sliding glass doors are fully opened, the horizontal roof supported by the paper tubes is emphasized and the hallway and terrace become continuous.
